PostSubject: Eyelets..!!   Thu Oct 14, 2010 7:39 am

Well over a month ago, there was a thread about the eyelets often used to feed the wire up to a tube cap. In my case, I have several sets where the eyelet is used as one of the rivets mounting the tube socket to the chassis.

There was discussion of how these eyelets are hard to find----and there was a very good suggestion to disassemble a pop-rivet to get something close**

Now--after quite a bit of searching--I have stumbled into the exact part at Mouser:
http://www.mouser.com/catalog/catalogUSD/642/1905.pdf

Part # 534-48 seems to be exactly what is needed for mounting the tube socket.

** a 1/8" steel pop rivet almost works---the only issue is that the hole is not quite big enought for the wire to the grid cap.

Thanks!

I often don't think of Mouser for a lot of these hardware items, I mean I know they have them but I just overlook them. I used to get those large catalogs regularly, which are much easier to browse when you're not sure exactly what you want, but I stopped taking them due to the number of trees that were being felled just to keep my catalog coming.

Without trying to get political, let me layout the flaws in that philosophy. When people cancel catalogs "to save trees" here is what is actually happening.

The company who sends the catalog loses business.
The company who delivered them to the store loses business.
The printer who printed them and the company who sold them the ink lose business.
The truckers who delivered the paper lose business.
The company who made the paper loses business.
The truckers who deliver the wood to the paper plant lose business.
The lumber company loses business.

All of that lost business means lost jobs, and all to "save" a renewable resource?

Larry

I certainly have not meant to upset you or anyone, for that I appologize.
