Subject: Help ID Allied Radio Kit Rcvr Sat Oct 16, 2010 12:54 am
Was at our local ham club pre-swap set up, and a friend mentioned he has a very old (late 40s or early 50s) Allied Knight Kit radio. I think it was 2 tube regen...one tube he thinks was a 117Z6 or the like...can't find anything on the net. I seem to remember one like that...not the ocean hopper...before that. No other info. Any ideas? RadioWizard

Shazzam! That's it! Didn't know they had an octal version of it. Got a look at it today at the swap. Pretty good shape, but I told him to redo the caps and resistors...has only one coil covering 535 to 1075 kc...needs to get a couple paper labels off the front. Paid $5 for it...was at a huge estate sale on the other side of Michigan. Thanks for IDing it for us. RadioWizard
