You don't possibly mean G615 do you?
Sorry, I tried to insert photo from the ARF Gallery but cannot seem to get anything to show up.

Ok bob! if I need them I'll let you know!
The main goal is to fix the antenna coil (?) thing on the back. The thing I'm talking about is the oval shaped ring of wires. Is there an alternative to using this (like running a wire 10ft long for example with sw radio)

No, a wire antenna won't do because the loop antenna is also the inductance that together with the RF section of the tuning cap tunes the RF input to the 1st detector (6BJ6). Here's the schematic (you'll need the djvu reader from Lizartech to open it):

Zenith J615 Schematic

Note that this set also appears to have the slug-tuned IF's that are prone to Silver migration.

If it were me, I'd salvage the loop from a junker Zenith; I doubt that many of them were application-specific.

I agree. As long as the value of the RF section of the tuning caps is the same or close in value, the substitute should work.

I've got an R 615 G, it's the same shape cabinet, and has the back.

Let me know if you are interested. David
