PostSubject: For Sale: Mystery Box!   Tue Oct 12, 2010 8:24 pm

I was chatting with another ARF member the other day and they mentioned how much they enjoy digging through a "junk box". So, my proposal: for $14 I will send you a USPS Priority Mail medium flat rate box packed tight with "stuff". What kind of stuff? Tubes, solid state parts, tools, maybe a small transistor radio or other device. Maybe some non-radio related stuff. What I will promise is nothing that I dug out of the garbage can, plenty of variety, and a full box with no filler. (also no padding-but most stuff that I would include shouldn't need any) All I ask of you is, no picking and choosing and no grumbling because I didn't include a 6L6GC or a Flash-Matic remote! If anybody wants to take me up on the offer you can mail me here or at shore72 (at) yahoo.com

Yes, that includes shipping. $14 to your door. I would do parcel post and be able to ship for less but that would make it pretty complicated. The post office advertises "if it fits, it ships" and I think that makes this ideal aside from the sorta high price. I can throw in an old transformer or something else heavy and it won't matter. I thought about doing the small flat rate box as well though you can't fit so much in them. If somebody wanted that, price would be $7. For a large flat rate box the price would be $18. I hope I sell some of these because there are a lot of odds and ends gathering dust around here, including quite a bit of stuff I pulled out of a closed TV shop.

sta500rdr, PM sent.

ilmoakw, I don't mind shipping to Canada, but the price would be $30. (medium flat rate runs $26.95, and that is going to be the cheapest option from what I can see) If you, or anyone else up that way is interested, just send me a PM. (or, as this forum calls it, an MP!)

If I keep it up I might run out of stuff to throw in these boxes...but I haven't yet! I hope everybody enjoys the variety I'm packing.

Just got mine. It has without a doubt, some of the most random items I have ever seen. Book on all of the remote controls manufactured by RCA in 1996, bent screw driver and the mechanism that accepts money on a gumball machine. All very interesting. It also had some real treasures in it! Well worth the money and I will have to spend some time figuring out what some of these other items are. Thanks!
