I have some MEPCO resistors and I was just curious how you are to tell what rating they are. They have all sorts of letters and numbers on them.

This is what one of them says on it:

MEPCO C-173BN 178K 1% 1/2W 92A2-1783

178,000 ohms?

Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Are you certain that this is not a resistor?

Edit- never mind.

Yeah I mistyped when i was listing this topic. They are resistors, I just wanted to see if the 178k really was its resistance.

You are correct, 178K 1/2 watt and 1%.
