PostSubject: Zenith 6S223 Dial Escutcheon Finish Question   Wed Oct 13, 2010 3:16 pm

Does anyone know what the ORIGINAL finish on the dial escutcheon for a Zenith 6S223 looks like? The ring itself is made of brass. Mine has what looks like a gloss BLACK finish - it appears to be original. It is definitely PAINT, and not just corrosion.

Looking at available on-line photos, they vary from soup to nuts! Some are polished brass, others appear painted - but none I have found were black. The black does match the color of the radio feet which are also gloss black.

Does anyone have an original?

Thanks!

I have a 6s223 and it appeared to be original when I got it,
The brass ring on mine is just natural brass, Not polished, Not black either.
Here's what it looked like Flea market fresh... Cracked dial glass and all.
